You can’t turn on the TV or scroll through social media these days without seeing some reference to the national driver shortage in the UK. As we all build up to a busy period (is it too early to say Christmas yet?), we’re working as hard as we can to maintain our service levels and get cake to you the next day, six days a week.
So, to help mitigate any risk with deliveries, from Monday 1st November 2021, we’ll be using DHL alongside DPD for our deliveries.
You won’t see any real changes apart from the uniform your driver is wearing when they drop off your parcels. You’ll still receive updates of your order status and confirmation, with a delivery timeframe as normal.
The additional impact of the driver shortage is that the price we pay for distribution has increased significantly. Although we absorb much of the delivery cost, we’re having to implement a small increase in the delivery cost by £1, meaning orders between £75-149 will now have a delivery charge of £6. All orders £150 and above will still come with free delivery, so it’s still a good idea to stock up if you can!
