A Baker’s Blog

Meet Gemma, the newest member of the ‘Smiths’ and our customer support superstar, who is here to make sure your experience with Cakesmiths is a smooth, hassle free and enjoyable one.

Based on a well known gin cocktail, our new English Garden Traycake is jam-packed with fresh, subtle flavours to tickle your tastebuds and help get your customers into the summer spirit. Gin and cake we hear you say? Find out how we got the flavours just right.

Meet Kat. Cake Artist. Number one priority: making sure our cakes always look as good as they taste.

We can’t think of anything more quintessentially British than tea and cake. And neither can you it seems, as our own ‘tea inspired’ cake combinations have been selling like hot (or should we say tea) cakes this month.

Take a look at some photos from our busy, busy, busy trip to the Amsterdam Coffee Festival last week and find out about upcoming events on the Cakesmiths 2016 tour.

What's the secret to a successful independent coffee shop we hear you ask? Read about Jaunty Goat and find out what's worked for them as they journey to become coffee maestros of the North.

As we cover the whole of the UK getting around to all of our customers is almost impossible. So in choosing the shows we do, we try and spread ourselves across the country as much as possible.

Back by popular demand, take a look at our 'Hall of Fame' photo gallery showing our cakes and bakes on display - ready to entice your customers through the door. Why not send in your own shots and we'll add them to the gallery in a jiffy.

200 Degrees Coffee Roasters are a perfect example of the evolution of coffee culture in the UK right now, making them the ideal choice for this month's Barista Recommends, where coffee (hand roasted at 200 Degrees, of course) and cake perfectly combine.

One a penny, two a penny, hot cross, um, loaf. With Easter fast approaching, have a look at our take on the traditional hot cross bun - with the usual Cakesmiths twist.

As the Great British Bake Off reminds us, it’s all about getting the perfect bake, and when it comes to cake, no-one knows this better than Nathan, our Oven Baking Aficionado.

Cakesmiths are out and about over the next few months. Find out where we'll be - we'd love to see you there.

Be the first to hear about what’s new with our bakes and cakes. With some behind the scenes tips on flavours and baking too. This month it’s all about Apple and Pecan Roar Bar and Matcha and Strawberry Loaf.
