We wanted to say another huge thank you for bearing with us over the past week or so as we’ve dealt with the fallout of the DPD delays. A mixture of Black Friday and the Royal Mail strikes caused excess pressure on their network, and a headache for both you and us.
DPD have assured us they’ve stopped taking on new customers to be able to service their current ones (that’s us), which is good news. Here are some of the steps we’ve taken to help you get cake…
Removing restrictions on certain postcodes
Based on info from DPD, we’ve decided to remove restrictions on certain postcodes that we have had in place over the past week - which we hope means access to cake for more of you. You’ll be alerted at checkout if a delivery address you’ve selected is still restricted.
The main areas still affected are in Lancashire, Leeds, Tyneside, Stoke, Lincoln, Liverpool, Manchester and Cardiff, as well as small pockets across other areas and most of Scotland. We’ll let you know as soon as we’re able to lift restrictions on postcodes in these areas.
If your order is delayed, your cakes will still be delicious!
We do advise that despite all your best efforts, you may still experience an extra day or two of delay with your order. Rest assured that we freeze the cakes here and send them temperature controlled to you, so they’re able to withstand that extra time with DPD and will be fine once received, even if not fully frozen, they can either be popped into your freezer or put on display.
We’re adding extra ice packs and doing what we can to reduce the number of boxes you receive per order, to keep the temperature down as much as possible. The good news is that it’s absolutely baltic across the UK right now with temperatures very cold indeed - great for the cakes in transit!
Collect from us and get 15% off.
If you can get to us in Bristol, we’re more than happy for you to collect your order from us directly. Just send your order to [email protected] with your company name in the subject line. Then let us know which cakes you need and their quantities and your preferred phone number.
We’ll confirm your order, call you back to arrange a collection and take 15% off, which may help cover some of your transport costs. Orders can be collected Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm and Sundays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm from us in Bristol: BS2 0JZ.
Collections in Scotland
We’re also offering collections from Edinburgh on Tuesday 20th December, although your order will need to be with us by 2 pm on Wednesday 14th December - you’ll get 15% off too. Full info here.
